Borderline Personality Disorder is a clinical condition defined by the DSM-IV-TR as profound instability in relationships, self-image, emotions, and behavior. Core symptoms include frantic efforts to avoid either real or imagined abandonment, idealization (“you’re a god!”) and devaluation (“you’re the problem!”) cycles with partners, impulsivity that can lead to dangerous behavior, frequent and severe mood swings, inappropriate and intense anger, and sometimes paranoid thoughts.
BPD women are intensely manipulative and destructive, particularly for men who become emotionally over-invested in them, or who exhibit overly accommodating beta-male behaviors. The BPD woman will gradually reshape his identity. They will cause him to sever ties with his friends and family, and to give up on his personal goals, all while framing him as the source of her emotional turmoil.
