I don’t give a damn about Donald Trump. What I care about is that people around me, people I once respected, are being brainwashed with outright lies coming from the mouths of cynical political game-players who don’t even believe their own lies. Everyone knows that January 6th was not as bad as the previous 4 years of Antifa and BLM violence and open attempts to overturn the election, which were not a problem at all (in fact, they were openly encouraged by multiple politicians like Maxine Waters). The left especially knows this. They are—dare I use the word?—gaslighting you to get and maintain power.
The January 6th hearings are not a trial. It’s a good thing, too—many people participating in the hearings would be in trouble for perjury. For example, the woman who claimed Trump tried to grab the steering wheel, which was followed by a Secret Service agent who said he’d testify under oath that this was a lie—He won’t be invited to the hearings anymore.
The reason for this show-trial is simple: If you support election integrity, if you want safer elections, if you so much as support voter ID, they want to be able to say that you are complicit in a supposed plot to overthrow the government. They want to say that anyone who votes the wrong way is an enemy of the country. The goal is to divide and conquer, and make it impossible to have a politician in office ever again who would challenge the political establishment’s absolute supremacy.
The trouble is, it’s all based on lies. The people claiming that January 6th was an insurrection do not believe what they are saying.
You are being manipulated by cynical, power-lusting liars.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS ON JANUARY 6
12:00 noon: Trump gives a speech at a rally near the White House
1:00 pm: The initial waves of protestors start arriving. Some break the barriers, some are invited in by Capitol police
Shortly after 2:00 pm: Protestors appear to break windows and climb walls at the Capitol
2:24 pm: Trump tweets “Mice Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and Constitution.”
This is a major talking point from the show-trial hearings, the planners of whom would like you to believe that this was the President encouraging an insurrection.
This was after Trump had already said “make your voices heard, peacefully”
2:38 pm: Trump tweets urging people to “stay peaceful” and calls for people to support the Capitol police.
To be clear: Less than 20 minutes after he mentioned Pence, he clarified (again) that he wanted people to be peaceful
Shortly before 3:00 pm: Trespassers enter the empty chambers at the Capitol.
I use the term “trespassers” pointedly. That is the worst crime with which these individuals can rightly be charged. Even then, some were invited in by Capitol Police holding doors open for them.
These misdemeanor offenses have caused many of the protestors to be held without trial or bail for long periods of time, which is illegal.
MONETARY COMPARISON OF DAMAGES
According to Forbes, the Capitol protests cost $2.73 million, with an M.
According to Axios, the Antifa and BLM riots cost $1—2 billion, with a B. To be clear with the scale of this comparison, that’s “one thousand million to two thousand millon.” This makes BLM’s damages the most expensive in American history.
So, let’s round up and compare directly:
January 6th: $3 million
BLM: $2,000 million ($2 billion)
If we cared about insurrections against government, why don’t we care when the left does it, and they do it literally, numerically, a thousand times worse?
DEATH TOLL COMPARISON
The death toll of the violent BLM terror that ripped through cities throughout the two weeks following George Floyd’s death was 19.
On January 6th, only 1 person was killed: a Trump fan by the name of Ashli Babbitt. The Capitol officer who shot her is well-known for being reckless with his weapon, and has been in the news before for leaving his gun in the Capitol building’s bathroom, which caused a panic. No justice was served for his negligence, and no justice was served for when he made the decision to murder a Trump supporter.
The other deaths that have been wrongly attributed to the protest by a frothing media, including officer Brian Sicknick, died of natural or self-inflicted causes.
Not one single person was killed in the capitol riots other than a Trump supporter who should not have been shot. Even if she shouldn’t have been inside the Capitol, she should not have been shot.
DEBUNKING FALSE CLAIMS
Claim: Liz Cheney said tens of thousands of protestors entered the Capitol Building.
Reality: Only about two thousand entered the building, according to ABC. The rally itself had around 80 thousand attendees. Of the two thousand that did enter the building, many were invited:
“Videos from the day of the attack appear to show some officers escorting rioters inside the building. In one video, USCP officers can be seen opening barricades allowing the mob to enter the Capitol complex without resistance.”
Claim: Trump encouraged the rioters.
Reality: Trump’s message to the protestors was clear: remain peaceful. The election was still certified the same day, which means the protest accomplished precisely nothing. Was that all a part of Trump’s grand, nefarious plan?
Claim: Trump didn’t condemn the rioters quickly enough.
Reality: Trump told them to “Go Home”:
Failing to condemn a behavior is not the same as encouraging that behavior. One can be a crime, one cannot.
Claim: Trump wanted Pence killed.
Reality: The interview that this claim is based on, in addition to coming from a known hard-left rag, was taken out of context.
Jonathan Karl: “They were saying “hang Mike Pence.”
Trump: “Because it’s common sense, Jon. It’s common sense that you’re supposed to protect. How can you—if you know a vote is fraudulent, right?—how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?”
This is one of those Trump quotes that can easily be taken out of context to make it appear as though he said something he did not say. Just like the “fine people” hoax, and the “drinking bleach” hoax, and all of the many others, this quote is ripe for people who are looking for new reasons to say Trump is Satan to jump on.
Trump is his own worst enemy when it comes to quotes like this. He makes it easy to take him out of context, and his enemies jump on it because they don’t care if they’re shown to be dishonest because they know the fruit of the poison tree will stick around and people will not discard the conclusions they drew from flawed “evidence.” That’s why the tell the lies to begin with: because facts no longer matter.
Claim: Trump demanded armed supporters be allowed into the rally
Reality: This is hearsay, which is not allowed as evidence in a court of law. Source: Cassidy Hutchinson, the source of the lie, admitted during her hearing that she wasn’t there at all for these conversations.
Claim: Trump assaulted Secret Service agents
Reality: This testimony by Hutchinson, same as above, was hearsay. Hutchinson was telling a story that she claimed she was told by someone else. That person immediately denied saying anything of the sort.
Also, people who were present said they’d testify under oath that nobody was attacked by Trump, and that Trump never tried to grab a steering wheel:
“However, a source close to the Secret Service confirmed to CBS News that Engel and the driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was physically attacked or assaulted by Trump and that the former president never lunged for the steering wheel of the vehicle.”
The only reason for the January 6th hearings and the couch-fainting performances from every screen all at once, apart from the establishment’s desire to keep these lies alive until after the midterm elections, is to prevent Donald Trump or anyone like him from challenging the stranglehold the political establishment have on power. If their power isn’t absolute, their corruption might be exposed. If their corruption is exposed, you might not continue allowing them to have power.
If you believe the official line on January 6, you’re a gullible fool at best. You’re better than that.
By the way, who is Ray Epps?
