Today, as the nation marks Juneteenth—a federal holiday celebrated with corporate banners, government proclamations, and a reimagined American flag with Pan-African colors—it’s time to take a better look at this falsely imposed neo-tradition. Far from a harmless celebration of freedom, Juneteenth has become a tool in a broader cultural and political agenda that undermines the American White majority.
Juneteenth, on paper, commemorates June 19, 1865, when US Troops were sent to Galveston, TX to officially free the slaves and enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, over two years after Lincoln issued the official document. The celebration has always been limited to fringe local celebrations by small communities that are particularly focused on the history of slavery in the US.
