More “cultural appropriation” please

Appropriation is the richness of diversity

Without human diversity, life would be incredibly dull. Without cultural appropriation, diversity has no purpose, and the goodness that comes from diversity is eliminated. The richness and social fertility that result when differing cultures make a mutually trusting exchange must not be discarded or discouraged. In culture, diversity is powerless without appropriation.

“Cultural appropriation” is exactly same as cultural exchange. One of the things that different cultures offer one another is the value of their cultural differences. We shouldn’t try to demonize a mutually beneficial exchange. In a diverse society, cultures are always borrowing the best things from other cultures, and that is a good thing. That’s where the richness and fertility of diverse societies is allowed to work its magic.
