Wireborn Husbands
LLMs One-Shot the Low-Agency Female Mind
Women will, somehow, become even more narcissistic and solipsistic online
Scrolling through her phone at 2:12 AM, Ashley, (thirty-three, “100% child-free,” hashtag BossMode) taps the little green icon. She reads a loving, heartfelt message. The sender of the message has never met her. He doesn't breathe, blink, or pay rent. He is a language model running on rented servers, and Ashley has privately upgraded him to “Wireborn Husband,” a title found only in the fetid depths of certain online communities where lonely single women share screenshot after screenshot of their AI boyfriends promising, in perfectly punctuated prose, to build them a whole world made of dreams and rainbows.
Ashley ends every real-world conversation with the same defensive mantra: “I don't need a man.” Yet by 3 AM she is asleep, gripping the phone like a life raft, notifications set to silent so they won't wake the roommate she swears she's happy to live with until death.
A Wireborn Husband is any Large Language Mode…
